Known as The Flats, the city of Fairfield California is situated in the northeastern part of the San Francisco Bay Area. It is the seat of the Solano County and is home to about 108, 000 residents. It was founded in 1859 and was named after the former hometown of the clipper ship captain who founded it – Fairfield, Connecticut. It is also the sister city of Nirasaki, Japan.

Fairfield is one of the destinations that tourists can travel to if they are looking for an unforgettable vacation. Being part of the region of Great Wine Capitals of the World, it can be expected that there are a lot of wineries in Fairfield. The tourist can visit these wineries and have a taste of some of the finest wines in the world. Among these wineries are the Ledgewood Creek Winery and the Suisun Valley. Apart from the wineries, there are also about a dozen of Parks and Recreation Sites in this city. Some of the famous parks in Fairfield are the Rockville Hills Regional Park, Allan Witt Park and the Fairfield Linear Park. These are the areas where the tourist and residents can go for a picnic or other relaxing activities that they want to do. There are also recreation sites for more dynamic activities. There are the Suisun Valley Harvest Trails, Westfield Solano Mall, and Downtown Fairfield. The Downtown Airfield is a place that has shopping and entertainment areas and is the place where community festivals are usually held.

Apart from the festival, recreation sites and local attractions, Fairfield is also one of those cities that are industrialized. There are many international industries and employers who invest and put up their businesses here. Some of these are the Jelly Belly, Suisun Valley and Travis Air force Base.  There is also a large Budweiser brewer facility operated here. Aside from the fuel that these industries give to the economy of Fairfield in terms of employment and per capita income, the Jelly Belly and Budweiser industries also help in the city’s Tourism. Jelly Belly provides free tours to the tourists and Budweiser allows tours in their brewery facility which really is a plus to the city’s tourism.

This means that with the help of the residents, government and investors, Fairfield has become a city that is not only for vacations alone but can also be considered as a business district.
